I have always dealt with doubts and deep self-criticism feeling. This comes from my own state of mind. Now what I tried to do since I have always dealt with substances like these is to make this an instrument for creation. Every work session asks me a deep level of concentration, and its result depends closely on my implication level at the time I stand in front of my work.
I have been fascinated for long time by painters who are taking a maximum of risk in their works. The risk of self-exposure is a proof for a work of quality. The difficulty is to carry on regardless your fragilities to immerse yourself deeply through personal histories of your life, to pick them up and to share them with people. That’s what I try to do when I paint.
I know that I’m doing well when I can feel personal histories appearing in my mind.
Dealing with such strong reactions, which can be found in my work, is the key of my artistic commitment. This is the kind of feeling I’m looking for when I stand in front of paintings from F. BACON or M. Millares.
