Aurélie’s paintings do not show the exact description of a place. She tries to show the poetic dimension existing between individuals and the scene where she positions them. She is also questioning the concept of landscape: Natural landscape, urban landscape and painting landscape.

There is a time for observation and a time for representation. The Italian Quattrocento painting influenced the way Aurélie represents space. She is interested by the relationship between urban landscape and characters, in Renaissance painting, and by the city’s representation often opening on the viewa of natural landscape. In her painting, Aurélie aims at  confronting these two landscapes symbolized by the tree and the cube. These two elements make up the set where the characters try to find a space.  Aurélie is questioning the place of the individual in the landscape and the effect it makes on different individuals, bringing them together or separating them from each others.
